Loving: Homemade masala chai. Mmmmm... I got addicted to this when we traveled India a few years ago and I used to regularly brew this up at home in the months following our trip. The other night I got a random craving for it and discovered we did in fact have the ingredients in the cupboard and I've been addicted again ever since! It goes down a treat at night, it's kinda like dessert for me but minus the calories (although, I did make individual bread & butter puddings the first night to go with it. Yum!).

Reading: The last book I tried to read was Private Games by James Patterson and for the first time, I couldn't do it. Usually his books (although similar) always get me in but not this one... I had to return the rest of my library books before I got a chance to read them and haven't been back in yet to collect some more!

Watching: Ummm... More Amazing Race. While we were on holidays, we watched a couple of eps at night while the toddler slept and we somehow got through an entire season veryyyy quickly. The shame!

Listening to: NOTHING. After a week in the car and music on all the time, I need to clear my head. I'm not like my husband who can listen to music 24/7, I need quiet time. Oliver isn't appreciating this fact though - he points to the stereo asking to have it turned on (as soon as it goes on, he starts dancing. It's kinda amusing).

Creating: I'm yet to dust off my sewing machine and whip something up this year. I have a few plans that I'd like to try out though - a knitted & sewn doll combo and a few Aussie themed softies to celebrate Australia Day this month.

Thinking about: So. many. things. I don't even know where to begin... Moving house. When to go to Australia next. Where to spend next Christmas. The fact that my date in the title might confuse people (argh why can't English speaking countries spell & do dates all the same way!!!). 3 weeks vacation allowance per year compared to 8 weeks in Holland sucks, big time. If May is a good time to visit Hawaii (?). How dodgy the wiring in this house must be as Mitch's coffee roaster keeps flipping the circuit breaker. My mind is going a million places this week...

Making me happy: Holidays. Having a week offline and doing what we love - traveling and spending time together as a family - well, it was SO refreshing. I'm ready to go away again...

Looking forward to: February!!!! 2013 is shaping up to be the year of the visitor and our first international visitors are going to be here NEXT MONTH! To say I am excited is an understatement, my 2 besties from high school are coming over. We have our trip to Disneyland and our girls weekend all booked already and otherwise we'll just play it by ear and do local things. I can't wait to have my girls over here!

  3. Following now :) Thanks for stopping by my page! Mmm, chai tea is the best. We have a few friends from India & they introduced us a few years ago. I'm with you on the 'can't listen to music 24/7' ... I'm like that too. Sometimes silence is needed.
