M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!

As my lack of blogging might indicate, this past month has been BUSY. We had our SoCal road trip, 2 lots of visitors from Australia and then topped it off with a trip to Lake Tahoe and.... DISNEYLAND!!! This was my third Disney visit (the first being Euro Disney in Paris however) and Mitch/Ollie's second. He is one lucky kid getting to go to 'Mickey Mouse's house' (as he likes to call it) twice before he's even 3!

It was a much shorter trip than last year, but definitely long enough... Disney in the summertime is crazy busy! We drove down on the Monday, meeting up with our good friends Roy & Tiff from Australia, did a 14.5 hour day at Disneyland on the Tuesday (complete with the 2 kids in tow - they were little troopers!) and then drove home Wednesday. Full on, but oh-so-fun... I felt like a kid again!

The stroller swap pass worked a treat again and we were able to do all the thrill rides (Space Mountain, anyone? LOVE!) but my favourite part of the day was watching Ollie ride his first real roller coaster. He was just tall enough but looked ever so tiny up there - riding it not once, but twice in a row (right at the back). This boy has no fear!

I also loved the spinning tea cups. This year we did them at night - the coloured lanterns really added to the atmosphere; this to me feels like the quintessential Disneyland ride. While we were lining up, Ollie decided he wanted to ride in an orange teacup. As soon as we were allowed in, he bolted to the other side to secure us an orange one! I'm not sure I've ever seen him run with such determination!

Our mammoth day ended with the fireworks... It was insanely crowded (and Ollie wasn't such a fan of the noise) but pretty cool, all the same.

Ah, the happiest place on earth. It was fun, but after doing both Legoland AND Disneyland in the space of a month, I think it's safe to say I'm done with theme parks for awhile... :-)

  1. Sounds like you guys had a great day! We had season passes last year and had so much fun. I think we are going to get them once I am ready to get Jake out and about!

  2. So fun! I want to do Disney a World but I think we have to wait just a few more years till the boys are a little older since we have to fly there!
