Getaway down under

This past month, I braved the crazy long flight and traveled alone with the kiddos to Australia. The getting to and from was about as fun as I had anticipated (flying solo with a 6 month old + 3 year old may need its own post), but it was SO worth it. Getting to introduce our sweet, smiley Austin to the family and seeing our big boy Oliver playing with his cousins and getting to know his Granny & GranJohn so much better... It really was worth every second of craziness on the airplane.

I spent a few days on either side of my trip in Brisbane; the city Mitch and I used to live in, hanging out with my parents, sisters, brother-in-laws, niece & nephews...

We spent a day on the bay, at pretty Suttons Beach in Redcliffe where I finally fulfilled my fish & chips craving and the cousins had a blast having jelly fish fights...

We enjoyed a beautiful brunch (gosh, I miss going out for breakfast in Australia! America might seem like a breakfast place, but it just doesn't compare) at the Corner Store Cafe to celebrate my sister Nat's birthday...

And before I knew it (after some time at the Gympie house, of course), my two weeks were up. Just like that it was time to get on the plane once again. I've been home a couple of days now, but I'm still in a complete daze. Thankfully our next trip will be for at least twice as long!

  1. You are amazing! Supermom! I am waiting for that post about the getting to and from. I think I need all the help I can get in that department. It looks like you had a wonderful trip! :)
