Her first days {Anneke Claire}

Although Anneke's birth was much faster than I could have anticipated, our hospital stay was a little longer than I would have preferred. Sweet Anneke spent her first hours in NICU (thankfully a very short stint, she just needed a little assistance regulating her blood sugar) and at 22 hours old had to go under the phototherapy lights. It was hard not being able to hold our much anticipated baby girl except for nappy changes, nursing & formula top ups (helps get the jaundice over and done with faster), but we were expecting to deal with jaundice this time given both her big brothers needed the lights.

Oliver and Austin came in to meet her the day after she was born - Aus was a little standoffish at first, but Ollie was smitten right from the word go :-)

After 48 hours, we'd reached our limit in the mother-baby unit given it was a natural, uncomplicated delivery but Anneke's bilirubin levels were still rising so Mitch went home with the boys while Anneke and I were transferred to pediatrics. Thankfully it was just an overnight and we were home by lunchtime the following day with the biliblanket in tow!

And so the craziness of life with two boys and a baby girl began... :-)
