Coit Tower, San Francisco

I've been on a mission lately to work through our California bucket list. I've quite literally had a Google doc going since we moved here where I note down interesting places I hear of and we've crossed quite a few off over the years, although I still find myself adding to it. We've been to Tahoe a couple of times a year, road tripped along the Northern CA coast and redwoods, explored Bodie and Mammoth Lakes, Disneyland twice (soon to be three times), Legoland, San Diego, Napa, Sonoma, Palm Springs, Yosemite, Big Sur, most of the beaches between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay, Santa Barbara, Pinecrest Lake, Mendocino... The list goes on. We like to get out :)

One thing we don't do often enough however is go up into the city. After taking a visit to Balmy Alley a couple of weekends ago, we headed back to the bay to climb the stairs of Telegraph Hill - all the way from Levis Plaza up to Coit Tower. Little Mr Austin (aka Mr Independent - "me do it!") walked the entire way without a single complaint and Ollie practically ran; I think it's safe to say the boys enjoyed their outing. My favourite part was seeing the crazy zigzag of steep Lombard Street from a distance (seen in the second last photo), we've driven down it a bunch of times with visitors and even walked up it once, but I've never seen it from this angle. We didn't go up Coit Tower as the line was insanely long, but I feel like it's another spot I can happily cross off our Cali bucket list now :)

So Coit Tower - been there, done that now. What's next?
